The teams within the Children and Families Services division at Torfaen provide a range of services to support families to ensure children remain with their families where possible, and to participate in community activities. Inter-agency working is a significant feature of the Children and Families Services approach to service delivery, and you will play a key role in working jointly with partner agencies and in working collaboratively in the development of new services. The Family Resource Team helps parents and carers to understand and meet the needs of their children in a safe, supportive, and caring environment. It provides a range of community-based support services for the families including individual direct work with children focused on their emotional needs and building their self-esteem and confidence, also parenting programmes and direct work with adults including general parenting skills and the impact of domestic violence on children. We currently have a vacancy for a Family Support Officer. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Family Resource Team and will provide the direct work services with the parents/ carers and the children.
